Christmas Ornaments

The last batch of ornaments are ready to be decorated at our Christmas parties tonight! We have seen all kinds of creative masterpieces these past few days. Even Santa commented on how nice they turned out.
What sweets will you leave out for Santa at your house this year?
Merry Christmas from TREE!

Christmas Decorations

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas around TREE. The Christmas tree is up and outside we have a new addition to our Christmas decorations - a brightly lit snowman sporting a festive scarf and mittens.
There are only a few more weeks until we have our Christmas parties and 33 more days until Christmas. Let the countdown begin!!!

We sure can't wait to see what Santa has in store for us this year.

Summer School

Summer BBQ!!

Eikaiwa TREE Reading Contest Champions` Cup

There are only two weeks left in Eikaiwa TREE`s second annual reading contest. I hope you all are practicing hard! This year, the theme is "poetry". Unlike reading a normal English passage, to read poetry well, timing and rhythm are important. While this is challenging, our students are trying their best. Win or lose, all students will have gained unique knowledge about English that will benefit them even after the contest is over.

Winners will receive a trophy to take home and have their name immortalized on the Eikaiwa TREE Reading Contest Champions` Cup. The cup sits in the lobby for all to see throughout the year, but has become the focus of attention once again. Now that the end of the contest draws near, students look with fresh eyes at the Champions` Cup. The names of last year`s winners, written in each winner`s hand, reflects their age at the time they won- the youngest winner was only 4 years old. Still, a 4 year old can become a champion in English and so can you. Draw inspiration from the dedication of last year`s winners and try hard in these last two weeks! Good luck.

Easter Picnic in Review

The weather was less than perfect- the morning was cool (almost cold) and the sky was filled with clouds that threatened rain at any second. Even so, we had an event filled with games, coloring and eggs, eggs eggs!

This year, TREE provided over 500 plastic Easter eggs filled with toys and stickers as well as 20 golden eggs which had a special surprise inside.  Each attendee was able to dye 10 hard boiled eggs.

With over 70 students and their siblings, our Easter egg hunt this year had over 1,200 eggs! TREE staff and mothers hid the plastic and hard boiled eggs all over Niodori Park.

The rain held off long enough for us to play some outdoor games. We played different kinds of tag, red-light-green-light and threw bean bags at a Easter-themed bean bag board. We brought back the exercise balls for a fun obstacle course that was challenging for everyone from kindergartners to adults.

Thank you to everyone who came and supported us! This year was a lot of fun for everyone. We hope to make next year`s Easter Picnic even more successful.

TREE 花見

Happy spring!
This year TREE held its first ever cherry blossom viewing party. We went outside of Misato to Shimizu Park in Noda city. The cherry blossoms had only just started to bloom so there sadly wasn`t a lot of flowers to see, but the weather was fine and the company was great! Come join us next year!

Valentine`s Day Craft

This week at TREE we are celebrating Valentine`s Day. In Kindergarten and Elementary school age classes, we used a food tray to make a lovely picture frame. The children enjoyed learning about Valentine`s Day in America and were able to make a craft to give to their families or friends!

Happy Valentine`s Day from everyone here at TREE!
